Rock the Block is a district wide, quarterly event that invites everyone to gather together for a high energy, multimedia driven entertainment event, utilizing the gifts and talents of this generation. Rock The Block events will present a message of love, hope, and character based topics to help reach youth with relevant methods in targeted communities.

Rock the Block is an instrument to help a counter culture movement that embraces love for all people. We support and believe in the message of abstinence before marriage and saying no to drugs and alcohol. We challenge men and women to become people of character and encourage them to be someone great.
Rock the Block is not a conventional event but it is a high energy atmosphere, incorporating bass pounding music that encourages everyone to be involved. There are rappers that entertain lasers and lights that swirl overhead. Drama, dance, and videos are incorporated. Messages that challenge the audience to maximize their potential and to stand for what is right. It’s a life-changing experience!

North East United Methodist Church (NEUMC) is having a Share Your Care block party on Saturday, May 12, 2012 from 10AM to 2PM. It will be held in the NEUMC parking lot and in the parish house of St. Mary Ann’s Episcopal Church. Both locations are at the intersection of Main and Church Streets in North East, MD.

They have invited over 50 organizations from Cecil County and beyond to share with the public through pamphlets, conversation, and a variety of other outlets. Organizations will be setup with display information about their services and be there to answer questions from the community about volunteering within their organization. There will be food and music, too!

Some of the organizations that will be at the event are: Shoes 2 Share, American Cancer Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Sunday Breakfast Mission, Sandy Cove Ministries, and Meeting Ground.

Shoes 2 Share Shoe Drive @ THE CAVE

S2S is committed to collecting and distributing donated shoes through a network of charitable organizations, agencies, programs and projects that serve our target population. S2S is a non-profit ministry that collects and distributes “new”, “like new” & “used” shoes to those in great need around the world. Wells Tournament

York County teens united in an epic interschool charity tournament to save the lives of thousands! York county schools are participating in a charity competition this year. Working together, our goal is to raise enough funds to build 7 wells in Africa, saving the lives of thousands. The schools will compete to see which one can raise the most per number of students.

The theme of the second 4 weeks of the Tournament is Shoe Drive and Corporate Sponsors. We will be working with Shoes 2 Share for this portion of the event. Shoe collection bins will be placed at participating schools and local businesses will be encouraged to pledge matching grants for the Wells Tournament. For example, a local restaurant may pledge to donate $1 to the Wells Tournament 2012 for every donated pair of shoes up to $400. All business and personal donations will go to your schools total!

April Haiti Shipment

Shoes 2 Share is preparing for another shipment of a 40′ container to Haiti in April. Items such as medical supplies, baby items, personal hygiene items, toys, books, and new shoes among other items with be shipped and distributed through Food for the Poor.

It is exciting once again to be able to provide for those in need in the devastated country of Haiti. To be able to provide for the men, women, and children who are so grateful for whatever items they receive, no matter how large or small.
