Our list of “Friends of the Week” is growing.

What a blessing it was to have Shoes 2 Share a focus of our annual Women of the Word, Ladies Tea. We sent out invites to our W.O.W. ladies from the church and they took extras to invite friends. Everyone was challenged that although it would not cost them to attend, a donation of shoes would be their entrance. We also asked for donations to help ship the shoes. We had a basket set out for donations and the church covered the rest of the shipping fees.
The theme of our tea is Christmas and focusing on the most important parts of Christmas so Shoes 2 Share was an easy tie in to our theme. God gave His son, we in turn give out of a joyful heart. We had a sleigh that was filled to overflowing in no time and then came the large bags and bins that ladies had collected. 200 shoes collected and many were now aware of other bins to drop off and where the warehouse is located.
There were 67 ladies in attendance and we were so blessed to hear Rhonda’s testimony of how God worked in her life to obey him with adoption and then how He worked in her families life with Shoes 2 Share. The ladies have given me several thanks since this event and most have said how sweet Rhonda’s testimony was and what an awesome thing for them to have a hands on local ministry that they can trust is getting resources in the right hands in Haiti. I believe that there will be some volunteering from our ladies and definitely an awareness of the nations and their needs.
We played some table games, had tea and treats and listened to Rhonda speak. We allowed time for the reading of the Biblical account of Christmas and sang two carols. When dismissal time came many sat at the tables and visited. Rhonda was inundated with folks talking to her at the Shoes 2 Share display. Words are not enough to say thank you for your time with us and what a wonderful day it was to have Shoes 2 Share, their journey and now new friends!
