Another mission field arose when our home church, Liberty Baptist Church of Bear, DE, went to a poverty stricken section of West Virginia to improve their homes and work with local missionaries. Many knitted, crocheted, and clothing items were given to the people in need in W. Virginia. Every item made carried with it the prayers for the recipients that they might be warmed by the gift and see God’s love in the stitches. Stitches to Share is expanding God’s work to provide items to Helping Up Missions, a Baltimore-based homeless shelter for men. |
Stitches to Share originated with the Haiti earthquake of January 12, 2010. God used His people to reach out to the Haitians showing His love through the making and distributing of handmade blankets to warm their bodies and reach their souls with the Gospel. Our group has joined with Shoes 2 Share International, whose goal is to provide Hope, Comfort and Opportunity by “Sharing the Good News with the Gift of Shoes”. Shoes 2 Share is located in Newark, Delaware. |

As of this writing, four mission fields have been impacted:

4. “Share-a-Pair” Christmas party in Newark, DE
The need for the gospel is never ending and the need to show love to the lost can be demonstrated through the gifts of Stitches to Share. Stitches to Share will go where God sends us.
The following items to be stitched are welcomed:
- Hats, gloves, socks, and scarves for men
- Blankets and afghans
- Baby items – blankets, sweaters, caps
- Quilts
- Braided rugs or other floor coverings
- Any items which may be used to share God’s love with others in need.

Please consider donating the following items for our stitching volunteers:
- Yarn
- Crochet hooks of all sizes
- Knitting needles of all sizes
- Scissors
- Old clothing for braided rugs, especially jeans
- Large darning needles (long, large-eyed needle)
- Thimbles
- Lacing thread (heavy-duty string or thread)
- Fabric scraps
- Quilt batting (stuffing)
- Sewing machines
- Sewing thread
- Sewing needles & miscellaneous sewing supplies
- Tape measure
